Snape... Snape... Severus Snape <3

I have been reading the Harry Potter books and I really do love them! I have religiously seen the movies within the first few days of them coming out and never stopped to read the books. But with a revived passion for reading... I am happy that I have begun the adventure!

Which leads me to my next point...
Ok... So it may come as no surprise but...

I HEART SNAPE!!!

I mean, I really do! I always have, even when everyone thought he was the bad guy... I don't know what it is about him. Maybe it's his black hair and odd looks. The quiet and mysterious type...  or just the way he says, "Turn to page three hundred and ninety-four" and the four lingers on his lips as they pucker out. I guess I've always had a thing for the odd ones--being one myself. Ahaha! Ok, enough grossing you all out because I know I am the odd one out on this one... but I just had to finally express my love <3>

Snape, you keep making your potions! Go on with your bad self ;)

Since Kari is talking music, I will too. Halcali is great. They are becoming a little TOO mainstream and popish but I forgive them for now. Their new song is different from their usual style...not as mush rap. They are dressed kind of like ravers, but again I will forgive them since they put Tokyo Tower in their music video. I especially like the scene at 2:11.

Still, nothing can beat their original sound and personality.

The Raveonettes Sune Rose Wagner goes Solo!

Sune Rose Wagner, one half of the Raveonettes, has made a solo album titled Sune Rose Wagner and it is amazing! Take a listen!

Sune Rose Wagner Solo

I do not understand a single word because the album is in Danish but that doesn't stop my love of his surfer rock sound. Think Beach Boys and Dick Dale with a dark twist.

Left to Right: Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo

Here is the track listing for Wagner's solo album:

1. “Hvad Der Sker”
2. “Et Underfuldt Liv”
3. “Afgrunden”
4. “Altid”
5. “Tyskerpiger”
6. “Samme Vej”
7. “Svinske Mænd”
8. “Gi' Mig en Pige”
9. “Beruset og Forhadt”
10. “Din Mund”

My personal favs are “Gi' Mig en Pige” and “Altid.”

In an interview, when asked if all of the songs on the album are about lust in some way, Wagner said of the Raveonette's most current album Lust Lust Lust, "Yeah, they are. Most of the album really is lusting after the unknown. Lusting after things you can’t get. It’s sort of like you want everything all at once. And sometimes you can’t have that. Sometimes you’ve got to choose, and that’s a hard thing.

Does that not sum up our lives or what!? We are all lusting after so many different things yet we can't do everything. Katie, you just posted a blog about picking and choosing your passions in life! Check out the Raveonettes! Especially if you like Christmas music because they have some pretty bomb Christmas songs!

Enjoy!

Doing good deeds is always fun and rewarding. Maybe we can get together during Christmas and make beanies/scarves to donate like Katie is doing?

Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris - First Chapter!!!

Here is the link to the first chapter of Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris:

Dead and Gone: Chapter One

The book doesn't come out until May 5, 2009 but she has incredible southern hospitality and usually posts the first chapters of her upcoming books on her website. What a lady! I heart her and my adopted grandma, Paula Deen. God love southern ladies!

The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling

The Tales of Beedle the Bard, by J.K. Rowling, comes out today! How exciting! For those of you who are familiar with the seventh Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, this is the fairy tale book that Dumbledore gives Hermione. It includes clues/hints on how to destroy Voldemort. I am glad that Harry Potter continues on in some way!

Band of Horses: Cease to Begin

I thought I'd share the album cover art because I think it's pretty :) It kind of reminds me of the opening/closing scene of Mamma Mia! but I suppose Cease to Begin is more melancholy. Band of Horses is pretty amazing. They remind me of My Morning Jacket, which is a good thing. Here are some songs I really enjoy:

- Window Blues
- Detlef Schrempf
- No One's Gonna Love You
- St. Augustine
- Our Swords
- The Funeral

Wow, did I just name the whole album?! haha... Enjoy!

Disney Holds a Special Place in my Heart...

Willkommen! This is very exciting! Our first topic! So... for the Peter Pan inside us all... Yes, I know, this is totally cliché because Disney is all over this blog already. But we all have issues with growing up, right? That's why we love Disney so much!

When I was little, Peter Pan was it for me. The aerial view of Neverland still gets me to this day. Although Michael Jackson naming his home Neverland Ranch was a bit creepy... That's besides the point. Tangents! To make my point, Neverland will always be something special to me. Disney will always have a special place in my heart. I will always be a kid at heart.

Here is my question for you: What Disney movie holds a special place in your heart and why? You can have more than one answer. God knows I do!

Also, what is your favorite ride at Disneyland? What ride do you think is underrated?

Please feel free to edit this post if you want to post any pictures for your response. Just make sure we know who wrote what. Otherwise, please discuss in the comments section.
