My Sister's Keeper

I recently watched the movie and read the book My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I highly recommend this book and movie! Both are tearjerkers, I'm not gonna lie. But the tears are worth every moment because I think they both leave you with a wonderful perspective on life and death.

I'm not going to spoil the story for those of you that have not read or seen the book/movie. But the moral of the story is that death is inevitable and tragic. It happens and it is a force that cannot be stopped. We'll never understand it either. But life goes on and you have to remember those you have lost for all the happiness and joy they brought into your world. Sometimes you have to let go and live your life.

I know, easier said than done. But I firmly believe that our loved ones we have lost would never want to see us sad and suffering. They would want us to live a life full of happiness, laughs and smiles. The pain and hurt will probably never stop. But at least we can learn to live with it and turn that energy into something positive.

My Sister's Keeper was very inspiring. I hope you all get a chance to read it or at least watch the movie. Check out Jason Patric! Still a hottie after all these years! CheeeeeeeOWWWWWWW!!! ahaha

An excerpt that fits me from The Sisiterhood

"Where are we going?" Tibby asked flatly.
"It's a surprise. It'll be fun. Come on!"
...
"I don't want a surprise. I don't want to have fun."
"That's exactly why you need some."
....
"I still don't want to go."
"We love you too much to let you fester in your room for the rest of the summer."
"Maybe I like to fester," Tibby said.
"But festering... doesn't like you."

Pink Spandex!

Oh baby, oh baby! I do believe we are going to get our pink spandex scene in True Blood!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Thank GOD!

Ausiello says:

"Alexander Skarsgard's Nordic vamp has an extremely homoerotic encounter with a character who shall remain nameless."

The comment is in reference to an orgy scene that happens in the show this season. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Loving it.

Here is the whole Ask Ausiello article. Enjoy!

The Sisterhood

She carried her three boxes of Froot Loops, two cartons of milk and and her banana across the deck and sat next to Diana.

"Do you sleep?" Diana asked. "Where were you this morning?"
"Swimming" Bridget answered.

Kari, this is you. You have to admit it's true.

New Book Idea!

I propose we read Night Games and Other Stories and Novellas by Arthur Schnitzler. The story "Dream Story" is the inspiration for the Stanley Kubrick film Eyes Wide Shut. It sounds really good and I think we would all enjoy it.

I'm going to check my copy out at the library tomorrow :D
